Dublin’s Best Kept Secrets

The capital of the emerald isles, Dublin is the preconception of Ireland embodied. From Guinness to the clandestine atmosphere that the Irish are famous for, Dublin is on the bucket list for travelers from all around the world. However, what to do in Dublin is something many struggle with and coming up with an itinerary is essential to get the most out of such a beautiful city. For some inspiration check out Last Night of Freedom’s (https://www.lastnightoffreedom.com) list of Dublin’s best kept secrets.

The Blind Pig

Paying homage to the 1920s prohibition era, the Blind Pig offers patrons the chance to experience what it was like when you had to be hush hush about alcohol. The secret bar is only accessible through a small door down a brick passage way, but say the password to the man at the door and let the secret world be revealed before your eyes. Themed drinks are on offer to customers, simply refer to the menus that are printed on the back of old books and let your taste buds take you back to 20s New York and absorb the remarkable atmosphere the Blind Pig offers.

Napoleon’s Toothbrush

Not something you’ll hear every day, but considering it is something related to one of history’s greatest generals, you should take time out to go and see it. This quirky little item can be found in Dublin’s Royal College of Physicians thanks to one of the little Frenchman’s closest friends, Irish physician Barry Edwards O’Meara. Napoleon gifted his buddy a number of keepsakes including a number of personalised snuff boxes, as well as this famous toothbrush. Quirky, but something to tell your friends.

Bagots Hutton

Claustrophobic yet comfortable, Bagots Hutton is a one for any hidden hipster looking for that niche place to have a drink. Located in the commonly referred to ‘Hipster Triangle’, the bar takes inspirations from a mix of gothic décor and Da Vinci style. And if the wine bars style still doesn’t appeal to you, the place offers weekly food specials like Meaty Monday and Cheesy Tuesday. With a capacity of just 65, make sure you get there early to grab yourself one of the limited Chesterfield sofas.

The Library Bar

Located inside the Central Hotel, the Library bar is perfect for that chilled out drink in comfortable surroundings. Named the Library Bar due to their strict ‘No Music’ stance, the bars offers its customers the chance to relax and catch up with their days activities. The country-club styled décor which includes high back chairs and crackling open fire is ideal for the morning after recovery, or a central base for those wanting to go out and explore what else Dublin has to offer.

Sweny’s Pharamacy

A one for all literature fans, Sweny’s pharmacy has become a must visit for those whom have read James Joyce’s Ulysses. In the story, the main character visits the pharmacy to pick up some face cream for his wife. Coming back to modern day the pharmacy is still going – being run by volunteers who try to recreate that period feel. But don’t expect to go in and get some paracetamol, the ‘pharmacy’ now sells a range of second hand books and lemon scented soaps. It’s basically a period themed Lush.

The Bar With No Name

The bar calls itself as Dublin’s “worst kept secrets” (we don’t think so) but unless you know what to look for then you’ll easily miss it. The bar is located in the middle of Dublin, but the only way to know where to go is to look out for a huge wooden snail hanging above the door. Once you’ve found the place, go up the stairs and be met with patrons sinking into the sofas and sipping mojito’s. Definitely worth keeping an eye out for that big, wooden snail.

Vintage Cocktail Club

Nestled behind an iron door in the famous Temple Bar, the Vintage Cocktail Club is a step back through the ages. To gain access you have to first find the bar and ring the bell. However, one you’ve gained entry you will be taken back to the vintage-age of speakeasy and glamorous movie stars, with a drinks menu to match. The cocktail options make this bar what it is, and where it gains its notoriety, which includes drinks inspired from as early as the 1400s to the Tiki craze of the mid-1900s.

Montpelier Hill

More of a one for the scary list, the Hell Fire Club at Montpelier Hill has a paranormal past. Built back in the 1700s, the building has had a chequered past being built using grave stones which some believe is the reason why it is cursed. After the building was completed, the roof was blown off which was the start of some of the spooky stuff that happened on the hallowed ground. After the owner’s death, the Hell Fire Club bought the property and became their base for their ‘activities’. Rumours are the club used the building for occult practices, including demonic possession, and other paranormal activities. Check it out if you dare.

Hacienda Bar

The Hacienda, much like its Manchester name sake, has a cult following like no other. Not your typical pub, the place is set by the famous fruit and veg marketing and like many other hush bars, you have to ring a buzzer to get in. But once you’re in you will not be disappointed. Favorited by many celebs including Ed Sheeran and Mathew McConaughey, the place only opens at the owner’s discretion. With 80s music on constant loop and good beer with numerous pool tables, this is a must for anyone looking for that salt-of-the-earth style pub.

River Bar

River-bar-dublin-nightlife

River Bar is easy to spot. Even if you have been to Dublin for 1 day, you probably saw that huge Heineken building close to O’Connell Street. When you look below instead of up to that attractive Heineken logo, you automatically see River Bar. It is a popular sports bar in Dublin that is known for organizing Latin parties in the weekend. The look and feel is more modern than a traditional Irish bar, but the atmosphere is awesome nonetheless. In the weekend you can enjoy the nightclub underneath River bar where they play mainly hip hop and Latin beats.

Murrays Bar

You can’t’ miss Murray’s bar when walking on O’Connell Street.  It is almost at the end where the logo only entices you to get in. The vibe feels cozy even when considering Murray’s doesn’t consist of only one floor. You can sit outside and they even opened a New York style bar recently in the basement, do check it out. This venue will for sure be packed during World Cup 2018, so for a great atmosphere, food and live music, Murray’s bar will be an excellent choice. (soon on nightoutexpert.com!)

Dicey’s Garden

Imagine yourself mixing a classy venue with a sports bar. The result is Harry’s on the Green. At a first glance it project a typical sports bar vibe, but when you continue walking in the venue, you will notice a separate cocktail bar and a classy feel and look! Fancy a cocktail while watching World Cup 2018 matches? Then Harry’s is definitely the sports bar for you! You can find the venue while passing Sinnotts bar (see below), a few minutes from St. Stephen’s Green Luas station.

Trinity Bar

Trinity bar is a prominent venue on Dame Street. It draws immediate attention with those huge flags which makes it hard to pass by without paying a visit. Trinity is known for several nightlife aspects including food, live music and a traditional Irish atmosphere. It’s central location in the city makes the venue even more attractive to be enjoyed. It’s reported that Trinity has the biggest ultra HD screen in the city aside many other smaller screens.

Sinnotts Bar

Sinnotts is the closest sports bar you encounter when you get out of the Luas at St Stephen’s Green station.  You will already see screens outside the pub which makes it possible for people passing by to check the score of many 2018 World Cup matches to come. When you make the wise choice of entering the establishment and you go down, a huge bar will welcome you together with a massive projector screen. The atmosphere is great, and you will understand why they call themselves “probably the best World Cup 2018 venue”.

The Living Room

The cousin of Murray’s Bar is the Living Room. Unlike its cousin, Living Room is very spacious with a more of a modern look. There is enough room for cheering and dancing, no wonder the place turns into a nightclub in the weekend. The amount of screens is uncountable but what it makes it even more attractive is the outside terrace. Living Room has their own outside area where you can play games, drink, smoke and watch matches. It’s that beer garden though that connects Living Room with Murray’s bar, that will appeal many football fans. There is a huge screen where the 2018 World Cup matches can be enjoyed in full glory.

Bleeding Horse

The Bleeding horse on Camden street is always packed it seems. Is it not inside the bar, then it’s in their cozy beer garden. This respectable Dublin sports bar exists since the 50s and is one of the oldest sports bars in this list. Bleeding horse’s reputation and history makes this a proper traditional Irish pub where all the World Cup 2018 matches can be watched in a proper Irish environment and culture.

Woolshed Baa

woolshed baa in dublin nightlife

This huge sports bar with an Australian look will definitely attract the more southern people from Europe and the world. Woolshed Baa is known for its Latin parties which makes it famous amongst Latin fans. This venue has it all, cheap drinks, pitches of beers, food deals and of course many screens to assist the 2018 World Cup matches. The Woolshed Baa is on Parnell street, not far away from the other sports bars at O’Connell street. The sports bar is known for other type of events like karaoke and  pub quizzes.

Dtwo

Dtwo in dublin nightlife

One of the best venues to watch World Cup 2018 matches at Harcourt street must be Dtwo. It is next to venue Black Door and on the opposite site of the venues Dicey’s, Everleigh Garden and Copper Face Jacks. Dtwo is a big place with a separate dance floor and all. But what really makes this venue remarkable for watching matches is that lovely beer garden! They have one of the best beer gardens in Dublin together with Living Room and Murray’s bar. It’s the perfect spot to get together and have a craic with all the other football fans, some pints and food.

Dublin City Center Map to Find Most Nightclubs

The amount of Dublin venues where one has the possibility to have a drink is endless. As Leopold Bloom in James Joyce’s Ulysses says: “Good puzzle would be to cross Dublin without passing a pub”. Of course this is one of the reasons why we love Dublin right!?

On NightOutExpert.com we offer you a selection of Dublin’s finest nightclubs. You don’t find any neighbour bars, only venues where DJs play tunes. This results in an amount of more than 55 venues aka bars and nightclubs in Dublin on our website. You find the majority of Dublin venues in the city center. We tried to add as many nightclubs/bars as we can on the map of Dublin’s city center. Check below: (Click on the image and the arrows at the upper left-hand corner to expand).

Dublin nightclubs and bars map

We were able to add the venues located at the south side like House nightclub, Odeon and Black door, but also the ones in the north Like Woolshed Baa and Living Room.

For the avid night outer, you probably miss a few venues that are further away south or north. You’re right, a few Dublin nightclubs are missing which are:

  • Rain nightclub
  • Copan
  • Wright Venue
  • McGowans

Rain nightclub and Copan are located in Portobello and Rathmines. So when you find yourself in front of Odeon in the south, just keep walking south for around 7 minutes to find Rain nightclub. Keep walking for 12 minutes and Copan will be in sight.

copan rain dublin nightclubs map

McGowans of Phibsboro is a complete opposite story. Do you see the Woolshed close to Cineworld in the north? When you keep walking north for quite some time you find McGowans.  Although we do recommend to take a taxi to reach this venue (6 minutes drive from Woolshed), the distance is nothing in comparison to the last nightclub on the list: the Wright venue.

mcgowans dublin nightclub map

You don’t just go to the Wright venue when you live in the city center or Dublin south. The biggest nightclub in Dublin is located way up in the north,  further up north than the airport. That means you have to plan your transportation! But the trip is worth it, the Wright venue is an experience!

In which area do you like to go out Dublin night outer?

Is there any Dublin venue you like to see on our website?

A Good Night Out in Dublin City

This city is wonderful, with so many places to see and so many things to do, and without a doubt the nightlife has come on great in the last few years.

So let’s have a night out.

If you plan your night out in advance you’ve got a very good chance of it being an enjoyable one. I have often planned my night out on a Monday to go out on the following Saturday – now that’s a great feeling!

No matter how good the venue is I believe that the staff are the most important thing. The environment, I believe, is just as important as the company.

By planning I mean contacting the venue, making yourself known to the people in the venue and making sure you at least have some idea of the venue setup. All of this is easily achieved now via social media. Do your homework (but fun homework!).

Once on a night out you can then relax. It’s fun time. The most important aspect of the night out to me will always be the friendliness of the staff. They are in charge of our destiny. Nothing – and I mean nothing – is as important as the staff. Read Yelp or TripAdvisor; check Twitter posts to find out how good they have been.

If the staff are nice you will have a good night and you may return on your next night out. But you have to play your part and be nice to every staff member you meet. Let’s be nice to everyone in the venue; this will make your night out so enjoyable and you will start to feel relaxed.

Dublin is a great city and the hospitality it brings is amazing. Let’s enjoy this wonderful city.

Krystle Nightclub is Back to Conquer Dublin Nightlife

In August 2016, Dublin’s famous classy nightclub Krystle announced a major investment of €1.1 million for refurbishing purposes. The venue closed up for 3 months and finally announced their launch weekend early November. A launch of a new Krystle nightclub in the weekend of November 25 already got us super excited, but knowing they invested more than 1 million euro, increased our expectation levels drastically!

krystle-dublin-opening

Of course when a launch consists of a full weekend, you can count us in for a full weekend! Friday was announced to have an open bar till 12:30 AM for invites only. Guests were welcome from 9 PM so we arrived at 9:30 PM. We soon met Wayne Lawlor and Ciamhie McCrory who immediately made us feel welcome. Both PR masters were brilliant in organising this spectacular relaunch. The nice people of Krystle set the right tone of excellence by offering us prosecco at the door while we made our way to the penthouse.

We felt like home! We missed Krystle’s penthouse since their closure in August and it was good to be back. In Krystle Dublin you always enjoy the beautiful people and the amazing view the penthouse and balcony are famous for. In the central revolving the DJ booth where Dj Ergen played some quality beats, there were tables and sofas which we haven’t seen before. We always wondered why this space wasn’t utilized more often to provide spectacular nightlife experiences, as the area is open with great views towards Dicey’s Garden, the balcony and of course the penthouse.

krystle-vip-nightclub-in-dublin

Krystle’s Suite has been totally renovated, and anyone looking to stay in a more intimate environment can enjoy this beautiful private room in the Penthouse. The elegant room fits groups of up to 12. The luxury colors pink and purple enhance the unique vibe that really makes you feel you are in one hell of an exclusive spot. The famous bed is replaced by a much better looking model which is now named “Playtime”…

People had the time of their lives like Krystle never left. As you expect from Krystle nightclub, there were many celebrities, models, socialites and other great people who enjoyed their buzz with prosecco, Champaign, and whiskey in the VIP Area. Everyone socialised, took photos, drank and danced. The cohesive atmosphere was simply magnetic. After 4 AM the party was still rocking and night outers showed no intention to leave anytime soon!

krystle-nightclub-in-dublin

As many Dublin night outers already know, Krystle consists of more areas aside the penthouse and suite. There is the balcony and the classy underground nightclub. Basically the whole entire club got renovated! On Saturday there was no free bar, but if you think for one second that the party vibe was lacking, you are mistaken! Our man Dj Wax spinned the decks, so the nightclub was bouncing nonstop. Krystle was packed the entire weekend. We expect the nightclub to remain packed on weekends where serious mula will be spent, especially with the festive spirit of December.

Krystle’s new look shows a mix of vivid colours on the walls. The elegant look appears to be a jungle/nature theme with images of exotic flowers and plants. The VIP venue really delivers and we immensely enjoyed feeling and seeing the potential again this Dublin nightclub projects.

nightoutexpert-krystle-in-dublin

Krystle Co-Owner Rangan Arulchelva, who received lots of compliments about his Dublin nightclub, commented: “This €1.1 million investment marks our continued commitment to providing a unique and superior quality entertainment product in Dublin.

“Krystle has set the standard for premier nightclubs in the city centre for the last ten years and, by investing in both our people and our premises, we will continue to set the standard for the next ten.”

We can say with absolute certainty that he is spot on. We missed Krystle Dublin and can’t wait already to go back. You as a respectable Dublin night outer should definitely check this place out, but I think that is pretty much a no brainer.

Lillie’s Bordello Cocktail Master Class: An Amazing Experience

If you want to know which venue is Dublin’s most prestigious VIP and nightclub, then here is your answer: Lillie’s Bordello. Many celebrities have witnessed the wonders of this magical nightclub in Dublin. There are a few aspects that make this Dublin venue unique, like the sophisticated and comfortable atmosphere, their divine cocktails and friendly staff. Nevertheless, the main aspect that makes this nightclub really stand out, is their own cocktail laboratory.

lillies-bordello-cocktails-dublin

Lillie’s Bordello is the only nightclub in Ireland that has its own micro-distillery where Lillie’s professional bartenders can make any cocktail you want. Wouldn’t you love to create your own unique and delicious cocktails? Of course you do, at least we do! To share this experience with cocktail lovers, Lillie’s Bordello offers cocktail master classes to make you a pro in no time. We were invited for a master class on the 30th of September!

We were joined by representatives from the famous stag and hen specialists Last Night of Freedom. There were many of them and we all had a great craic. They took loads of quality photos and allowed us to use them for this blog. Thank you Last Night of Freedom, it was great meeting you all!

lillies-bordello-dublin-city-centre

Lillie’s Bordello’s cocktail master Simba first gave us a tour including all VIP areas, then explained the history of cocktails, and finally made us craft our own cocktail of choice!

Lillie’s Bordello has 3 lavish decorated rooms and 4 bars. You find the most beautiful bar in the VIP area. There is a secret area for private parties upstairs that we finally got to know as well.

After the tour we sat comfortably in one of the venue’s intimate spaces where the laboratory is located. Here is where Simba explained the history of cocktails while we quenched our thirst with one of his favourite masterpieces.

lillies-bordello-dublin

After the interesting lesson, each one of us chose an appealing cocktail that we made ourselves from start till finish. We learned how to mix, stir and shake like a pro. We all shared our drinks to determine which one was the most delicious one. My (Johan’s) cocktail was the best (in my opinion) which was sweet mixed with whiskey, egg and other unique ingredients. I call it now the Johan’s flavourful mystery.

Coincidentally, there was a 90s party at Lillie’s after the master class so that was the perfect excuse to drink more cocktails we never tasted before!

lillies-bordello-in-dublin

If you consider yourself a serious cocktail lover, do attend Lillie’s Bordello’s master class. It’s not only those delectable drinks that make the experience unique, but also the intimate setting walled by distinctive art déco and luxurious furniture. Thank you Lillie’s Bordello for the memorable experience!

Buskers On The Ball: Unique New Dublin Venue

Buskers On The Ball is the latest venue in Temple Bar that officially opened their doors. As you have probably guessed, Buskers On The Ball (BOTB) is the neighbor of venue Buskers. Nevertheless, there is a clear difference between both venues. While Buskers is a bar (that recently got renovated), Buskers On The Ball is a one of a kind Social Interactive Sports Bar & Entertainment Venue.  It’s a big title, but BOTB proved themselves worthy of it.

Buskers On The Ball organized a big launch party on September 15th where none other than Irish football legends Jason McAteer and Phil Babb welcomed the guests. We were invited as well and it was funny seeing them play ping pong, they are actually pretty good at it!

buskers-on-the-ball-in-dublin

Yes night outers,  there are 5 Ping Pong Tables in Buskers On The Ball and not only that, there are also 4 Pool Tables, 1 American Pool Table, 2 Shuffle Board Tables & 2 Foo’s Ball Tables, plus Dublin’s largest indoor video wall showing all major live sports! It’s safe to say that Buskers On The Ball already turned themselves into the number one sports venue in Dublin!

Normally you associate beer with a sports bar, but here is where BOTB managed to distinguish themselves again from other sports bars: the venue contains the fundamentals of a classy cocktail bar. So besides all the sports activities night outers can occupy themselves with, there is always the option to drink a cocktail sophisticatedly with your friends. BOTB even organizes cocktail classes like their neighbor Buskers do.

We’ve been in Buskers On The Ball before, but the launch party really shows the venue’s potential. The vibe is amazing that caters to all types of night outers, from beer drinking sports lovers to night outers who love to enjoy their spirits and cocktails elegantly.

Check out more details about Buskers On The Ball.

Buskers On The Ball is definitely a game changer in social entertainment in Dublin and of course we will be back soon!

10 Dublin Venues To Drink 2 For 1 Cocktails on Thursdays

With an endless list of places to drink in Dublin, it is unquestionable that after a long day at work in front of a computer or in meeting, a drink is definitely needed (or shall we say a delicious cocktail!). We’ve gone around Dublin to provide you 10 enticing venues offering 2 for 1 cocktails for your and your colleague’s pleasure on Thursday. Don’t just stick to one venue, try all of them! Here we go:

Capitol at Lower Stephen’s Street

capitol in dublin nightlife

Don’t be fooled by the cheap prices, Capitol is a classy place with a vibe that normally relates to expensive cocktails. Its look and interior design will leave you in shock when finding out about those cheap prices! The classy atmosphere plus the super affordable drinks make this venue one of Dublin’s favourite after work bars. An important note: the cocktail prices are cheap every single day, so there is no excuse for not visiting this great Dublin venue anytime soon!

Lillie’s Bordello at Grafton Street

lillies bordello in dublin nightlife

The phrase 1 for 2 cocktails motivates many of us to go out and try as many cocktails as possible. Lillie’s Bordello goes one step further. They have their own cocktail laboratory where they can make any type of cocktail for you! The art Lillie’s Bordello bartenders include in their cocktail creation process, makes you almost feel dissapointed when the show is over! But that first taste is of another world and so unique! Go to Lillie’s and treat yourself, you deserve it.

The Church Cafe Bar, Restaurant and Club at Jervis Street

church-thursday in dublin nightlife

There are so many elegant nightclubs and bars in Dublin, the amount is really impressive! The Church for example, another venue that will blow your mind away when entering. The place was previously a Church (duh), and this is clearly visible. You can have some romantic get togethers in this venue with a unique interior design. The cellar bar/nightclub might be closed on Thursdays, but in December it will be open from Thursday till Saturday.

Sinnotts at South King Street

sinnotts in dublin nightlife

Sinnotts is a famous sports bar in Dublin city centre, one of the best Dublin venues to watch the 2018 World Cup  matches as a matter of fact! The bar is only 5 minutes walk from St Stephen’s Green Luas so when it’s pouring rain, get out, run, and be embraced by the homey vibe of Sinnotts and their cheap cocktails! The bar is huge, which makes it easy to have a flirt with the people sitting accross from you 😉

Odeon at Harcourt Street

odeon in dublin nightlife

Odeon is considered as one of the most interesting Dublin venues when it comes to location and architecture. It was an old train station long time ago before it transformed into a spacious and elegant bar. There is a bit of a movie theme in the Odeon with one bar all the way to the left, one in the centre and one all the way to the right. Dubliners love to go to Odeon for drinks, dancing and food. Another advantage: it’s across from Harcourt Luas station!

Harry’s On The Green at Kings Street South

harrys on the green in dublin nightlife

Just walk a few meters more when passing Sinnotts and you see Harry’s On The Green. A combo of a sports bar and a classy elegant bar is Harry’s on the Green in its entirety. Besides a sports bar look, Harry’s has its own cocktail bar where delicious cocktails are served. The venue is intimate and definitely recommendable to watch games and to go out with class with your friends, family or boy/girlfriend.

Copan at Lower Rathmines Road

copan in dublin nightlife

Copan might not be in the city centre, but please don’t let this stop you from visiting. The venue took its name from the ancient Mayan city ruins of Copán (1000BC) in western Honduras. This is visible when checking out the theme of the place. If you go to Copan, you don’t need to change venue that night. There is a DJ and a huge dance floor that has enough space to show off your dancing skills.

Pygmalion at South William Street

pygmalion in dublin nightlife

The music in Pygmalion is one of a kind. If you’re in Pyg and you don’t feel like dancing yet, then the two for one cocktails will certainly do the job for you. Pygmalion is a mysterious Dublin venue where no one judges you. Dance anyway you want, nobody cares. If you want to drink cheap and dance all night long to non stop sensational tunes, Pygmalion will be an excellent choice, especially with those cheap pygtails!

4 Dame Lane at Dame Street

So now that you know you should watch at least 1 match in a bar, let’s see which 8 sports bars in Dublin are the best to have an amazing experience:

River Bar

River Bar is easy to spot. Even if you have been to Dublin for 1 day, you probably saw that huge Heineken building close to O’Connell Street. When you look below instead of up to that attractive Heineken logo, you automatically see River Bar. It is a popular sports bar in Dublin that is known for teaching Latin dances in the weekend. The look and feel is more modern than a traditional Irish bar, but the atmosphere is awesome nonetheless. In the weekend you can enjoy the nightclub underneath River bar called Passion, where they play mainly hip hop and Latin beats.

Murrays Bar

You can’t’ miss Murray’s bar when walking on O’ Connell Street.  It is almost at the end where the logo only entices you to get in. The vibe feels cozy even when considering Murray’s doesn’t consist of only one floor. You can sit outside and they even opened a New York style bar recently in the basement, do check it out. This venue will for sure be packed during the Euro 2016, so for a great atmosphere, food and live music, Murray’s bar will be an excellent choice.

Harry’s on the Green

Imagine yourself mixing a classy venue with a sports bar. The result is Harry’s on the Green. At a first glance it project a typical sports bar vibe, but when you continue walking in the venue, you will notice a separate cocktail bar and a classy feel and look! Fancy a cocktail while watching the Euro 2016 matches?

You will already see screens outside the pub which makes it possible for people passing by to check the score. When you make the wise choice of entering the establishment and you go down, a huge bar will welcome you together with a massive projector screen. The atmosphere is great, and there is a reason they call themselves “probably the best UEFA Euro 2016 venue”.

There is a huge screen where the Euro 2016 matches can be enjoyed in full glory.

Bleeding Horse

The Bleeding horse on Camden street is always packed it seems. Is it not inside the bar, then it’s in their cozy beer garden. This respectable Dublin sports bar exists since the 50s and is one of the oldest sports bars in this list. Bleeding horse’s reputation and history makes this a proper traditional Irish pub where all the Euro 2016 matches can be watched in a proper Irish environment and culture. Watching Ireland play in the Euro will definitely be a pleasure in the Bleeding horse.

Woolshed Baa

This huge sports bar with an Australian look will definitely attract the more southern people from Europe and the world. Woolshed Baa is known for its Latin parties which makes it famous amongst Latin fans. This venue has it all, cheap drinks, pitches of beers, food deals and of course many screens to assist the Euro 2016 matches. The Woolshed Baa is on Parnell street, not far away from the other sports bars at O’Connell street. The sports bar is known for other type of events like karaoke and  pub quizzes.

BONUS:

Dtwo

The best venue to watch Euro 2016 matches at Harcourt street must be Dtwo.

NightOutExpert in Dublin Temple Bar – Part 2

Yesterday I wrote about the first official NightOutExpert (me and Yuval) venue crawl in Dublin. We kicked-off the weekend in Trinity Bar Venue. Then we went straight to Temple Bar where we explored venues such as Bad Bobs, Fitzsimons Bar and the Morgan Bar.

After the Morgan Bar we checked the Workmans Club, a great venue where musicians can share there talent, and afterwards the Liquor Rooms. Although Liqour Rooms is Workmans Club’s neighbor, it looks totally different. The Liquor Rooms looks very intimate with low ceilings and is a great place to bring your date to. The red colour stimulates the mystery and intimacy of the nightlife. Here we had our third cocktail which was a Manhattan. Of course we had to take a photo of Liqour Rooms mascot the bear, all ready for Christmas!

Before going to a nightclub, we had to drink another cocktail in Capitol. This venue is know for its cheap cocktails, most of the cocktails are 5 Euros so definitely check this venue out when you’re in Dublin! Capitol has a great vibe with a classy feeling.

Afterwards we entered Flannerys quickly with the plan of coming back later. Before eating dinner we couldn’t ignore Bleeding Horse so we paid the venue a quick visit. Bleeding Horse is a sports bar that is hard to pass by without taking a look inside because of its external look! It was packed inside since a sports event was on at the moment. When it comes to the 2016 Euro, Bleeding Horse is definitely a good choice to witness history in the making with many fellow football fans.

The last venue we went to is House nightclub. We entered the venue around 1:30 AM and it was packed in a good way. The interior “living room” look including the garden make House a very unique and memorable nightclub in Dublin. Different type of music is played like mainstream music and 90s music. We loved the pink/red atmosphere that takes you over quickly when entering the venue. House is open till late so it’s a great choice to end your night there. As many other venues, we will definitely visit this nightclub again.

There were so many other places we wanted to visit, like Flannerys again, Odeon, Café en Seine and 37 Dawson Street just to name a few. Luckily there is always next time so these and other venues can definitely expect our visit!

We made some videos and pictures, but we want to do this much more often. When you’re in the venue at that moment let us know and introduce yourself! We love to meet fellow night outers in all sorts of venues in Dublin! Soon part 2 of Nightoutexpert Dublin Venue crawl will take place, hope to see you then!

NightOutExpert in Dublin Temple Bar

Last weekend me and Gustavo made our first official NightOutExpert venue crawl in Dublin. We were planning to see so many venues, but we  only managed to visit a few of them. It is really my opinion that Dublin has such an amazing and unique nightlife vibe which everyone has to experience for themselves. The amount of awesome venues is simply ridiculous and you really want to go out a lot to enjoy as many venues as you can on the right evenings. Now with Christmas coming up the atmosphere is even more cosy and warm despite the weather. As described in one of my previous blogs, December is simply a month where you want and should go out and interact with people.

We started with Trinity Bar Venue, a great venue with great live music. The interior reflects a traditional Irish design that gives you the feeling you’re in the heart of Dublin. We enjoyed a nice pint of Guinness here. A harmonious and positive energy was present in Trinity Bar Venue which resulted in a perfect start of our Friday night.

The second venue we visited was Buskers in Dublin’s famous location Temple Bar, this venue I never visited before. Buskers has a very vivid and colorful interior design which are responsible for a happy atmosphere. There was a Christmas theme going on with many famous Christmas songs we all know by heart.

On Saturday we had a more of a thorough plan. We wanted to see way more venues  than the previous day, which we did. After a nice Irish breakfast we went to Temple Bar again to visit the many venues we have on this website.  We started in Bad Bobs which has a very welcoming appeal from the outside. The inside of the Bad Bobs reflects this even more. There is so much atmosphere when entering the bar, you would almost forget there is a second  floor where you can dance for hours. We drunk our first cocktail of the day which was a Long Island Iced Tea, one of our favorites.

Afterwards we headed to Mercantile Bar (not only a sports bar but also a latin bar sometimes!), 4 Dame Lane (definitely check out the first floor),  The Czech Inn (great restaurant in the early evening), Fitzsimons Bar (one of the most famous Temple Bar venues) and the Morgan Bar.

The Morgan Bar is totally different than the other mentioned venues. You would almost forget you’re in Temple Bar when visiting the Morgan Bar, it has a classy look with a minimal design. We ordered our second cocktail here which was a unique one you can’t find anywhere else: the choco new fashioned. As we always say, we don’t want to die stupid, meaning we like to try new things. We do recommend it!
